On May, 2004, Siemens Industrial Automation Ltd., Shanghai (SIAS) signed the contract with Shanghai Songjiang Northeast Waste Water Treatment Plant of Waste water treatment automation project with the total amount of RMB 10,000,000.00. This is the biggest sewage automation solution project for SIAS and has become a well base for SIAS' future competitive WWTP development.

Shanghai Songjiang Northeast Waste Water locates in the northeast of Shanghai, Songjiang District, with current sewage flow 70,000 m3 per day. The project will adopt the A/A/O activated sludge process with the function of the denitrogenation and phosphorous removal. Discharged after the secondary treatment, the sewage produced in the sewage treatment process is dewatered by the mechanical concentration process, and then is transported out.

The automation solution of Shanghai Songjiang WWTP will include the treatment plant , automation solution in pumping house , and the supply, installation, test and operation instruction of instrument. With the main content as follows:

- WWTP control system

- 10 SCADA control systems in pumping house

- Automation Control Instruments

- Photography and guarding system

- Telephone system

- Large screen project system
