On June 10th, a S5 to S7 internal promotion meeting was held in SIAS new office. SLC AS BU GM Mr Haeberer, SIAS DGM Mr An XiaoJie ; SLC CS BJ Mr Li YongLi and SIAS Service Dept. Mr Gao Xiang attended the meeting.

SIMATIC S5 serial PLC have been in Chinese market for 25 years since it was launched in 1979. During the past 20 years, more than 20,000 pieces S5 CPU were sold into the China Market directly, including the S5 system imported from Europe via machine builders. Reqire installation base of S5 should be quite huge.

How to maintain the existing S5 system? How to make the system run correctly and how to smoothly achieve the system upgrading from S5 to S7 are key issues to keep the existing customers as well as to enlarge our sales volumes. In Nov. of last year, AS/PT BU launched the project of "Migration S5 to S7" aiming at identifying S5 customer, creating and implementing S5 to S7 migration solutions and promoting successful stories.

The project team consists of Mr. Gaoxiang from SIAS, Mr. Li yongli from A&D CS and Mr. Ma Xiaoxiao from AS BU.

So far, this team has fulfilled following achievement through their hard work:

Defined S5 to S7 Migration strategy and Action Plan.

Worked out S5 to S7 Biz Model

Established S5 installation base and S5 customer database

Completed S5 to S7 promotion leaflet and questionnaire

Implemented several pilot S5 to S7 projects in some branches

All sales questions will be brought to BJ to make further discussion and to promote the S5-S7 migration project's implementation. The meeting gave our sales, service provider and SIAS service dept. a clear direction for project cooperation and implementation.
