"Siemens & Partner Hope Project" has be continuously paid attention by IA&DT management. On November 20th 2009, Mr. Herweck, Executive Vice President of Siemens Ltd. China and President Industry Sector, North East Asia, accompanied by other relevant management and partner representatives, visited Heqing again and brought warm to the local children in the cold winter.

Firstly, Mr. Herweck, accompanied by the local representatives, visited Zhongwo primary school and local poverty-stricken student families. Then, on that afternoon, Mr. Herweck attended the briefing meeting of Songgui high school and made speech. On the speech, he expressed his pleasure to meet so many young faces again for his third times, but also delivered the confidence that Siemens IA&DT and its partners will keep this hope project permanently with no stop.

After the speech, Mr. Herweck answered the students' questions from study and life aspects, and joined the joyful mutual activities with local students.

"Siemens & Partner Hope Project" is initiated by IA&DT as early as in 2002, a donation program with our business partners in Yunnan province to help improve the facilities and conditions of Zhongwo Primary School and later also other schools in the county. During the past 7 years, IA&DT and its partners have helped set up schools and dormitory buildings, canteens and libraries. In addition, IA&DT and our partners have sponsored many excellent students from poor families in Heqing. Just in 2009, about 480 students in Heqing, located in Huangping, Liuhe, Songgui, Xiyi and Jindun counties had been sponsored.

As one of the country's largest foreign investors, Siemens has a long-term commitment to the China market, and such commitment is not limited to business development. What we have been doing in Heqing is only a small fraction of our constant efforts to improve education across the country.

Through the hundreds of smile faces, we saw the hope and we are sure that our aid to schools and students in Heqing will continue in the coming years, and hope that our meager efforts will enable more local students to accomplish their studies, and help foster more young talents embark on the road of growth.
